A Guide to 911 and Municipal Services

The following is a guide for accessing Jade Island's Municipal Services (police, fire, and EMS).

Accessing the 911 system on Jade Island

The three main municipal services include the police department, fire department and hospital/EMS. Others may show up on sim in a temporary or permanent fashion as ordered by the mayor.

For emergency services, all players on Jade Island may request PD, FD, or EMS for an emergency by emoting into the Jade Island In-Character group. For example:

/me dials 911 ((add as much or as little as you wish, but please understand that ‘muni’ needs time to mobilize))

Dispatchers may include members of the Jade Island management team or any member of the core 911 branches–police, fire, hospital/EMS. A tip for dispatchers: Have fun with your dispatcher but always try to determine the location and nature of emergency in your first post. This will allow time for first-responder(s) to respond. This takes time.

Callers and dispatchers may continue to chat in the IC groups to  inform the RP and simply to have fun, but should order and confirm the presence of PD, FD and/or fire as early as possible. This is important for first-responders to participate in a meaningful way.

First-responders - When first responders arrive on the scene of an incident, they should radio in to dispatch via the IC group that they have arrived at the scene. They should establish their plan of action and call for any additional resources.

Disposition- For all first responders (PD, EMS, Fire, Hospital) it is imperative to ensure the appropriate transfer of care. Make sure that each time you hand off a character that the receiving team is aware!
